Hindu Love Gods (band)

The Hindu Love Gods was an American blues rock band in 1984 in Athens (Georgia ) by the three instrumentalists from the rock band REM Peter Buck ( guitar), Mike Mills (bass) and Bill Berry (drums ) and vocalists Warren Zevon and Bryan Cook ( backing vocals ) was founded.

With this lineup, the band released 1984, the little- Single Narrator, which also contained the Easybeats cover Gonna Have A Good Time Tonight. Stylistically remembered this single to the Merseybeat.

In 1987, the inclusion of the only album the band (without Bryan Cook), as after completion of the recording of Warren Zevons album Sentimental Hygiene were still a few hours of studio time available. The musicians recorded at a jam session ten cover songs - almost exclusively blues pieces - on that were not originally intended for publication. The session was released in 1990 as an album called Hindu Love Gods. It reached number 168 on the Billboard 200 charts, with the cover version of Prince's Raspberry Beret classics from the year 1985 reached number 23 of the Modern Rock Tracks radio charts.
