Hirokazu Koreeda

Hirokazu Koreeda (是 枝 裕 和jap, Hirokazu Koreeda, born June 6, 1962 in Kiyose, Tokyo Prefecture, Japan), also commonly written Kore - eda, is a Japanese film director.

Life

He studied literature until 1987 at Waseda University, but came afterwards to the independent television production company TV Man Union. He produced numerous documentaries for television. Central themes in these documentaries were the reminder that life and death.

His first feature film Mabaroshi - The light of the illusion won the 1995 an award at the International Film Festival of Venice and be more successful next film Wonderful Life has been newly adapted by 20th Century Fox. Koreeda's third feature film Distance took in 2001 at the competition at the film festival of Cannes part. His published 2004 film Nobody Knows is about four children who are suddenly abandoned by her mother and waiting for her to return itself must supply. Leading actor Yuya Yagira received at Cannes for his role as Akira Best Actor Award, Koreeda including the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Director.
