His Holiness

His Holiness is an honorary title, Your Holiness the corresponding personal address for the highest religious dignitaries of different faiths: the Pope, the Dalai Lama and Patriarch of the Orthodox churches.

In the Roman Catholic Church so is the Pope called, both the incumbent and the retired. The personal form of address in accordance with diplomatic protocol is Your Holiness. But also allowed is also the address used especially by Catholics Holy Father.
