Gammel Skagen (engl. Old Skagen ), also called Højen, is a place in Frederikshavn municipality in the Danish North Jutland.

The place is known for its small yellow house with red roofs in the dunes on the North Sea. From the place later went the town of Skagen, which is located northeast of Gammel Skagen forth. South-east of the town is the former church of Gammel Skagen, because of numerous sandstorms had this to be abandoned. It became known as the Buried Church. The over 1 km ² Råbjerg Mile is located south of the village.

Due to the numerous natural phenomena and the picturesque houses, often settled in the place painters, like Michael Ancher, Christian Krohg, Marie Krøyer and Peder Severin Krøyer down. Gammel Skagen is strongly influenced touristy today. Around the village extend holiday home areas and in the village itself there are numerous hotels.
