History

The HC 07 Prešov was founded in 1928 under the name Snaha Prešov. It was followed by numerous name changes, before you chose in 2007 the present name. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia and the division into the two independent states Czech Republic and Slovakia, the HC was 07 Prešov in 1993/94 season one of the ten founding members of the Extraliga. In the third year of their membership in the Extraliga, the team was relegated in the 1995/96 season from the first second-rate league, but was able to celebrate the re-emergence in 1998. Because of the reduction of the partial Nahmer number from twelve to eight in the Extraliga and his eleventh place in the main round had Prešov in 1998/99 season competing in the qualifying round in which it occupied the seventh place and hence descent in the first league in which it has since then played continuously.
