HMS Astute (S119)

The HMS Astute ( S119 ) is a nuclear submarine of the Royal Navy and lead ship of the Astute class.

The keel-laying ceremony took place on 31 January 2001 in Barrow-in -Furness place, the launching took place on 8 June 2007., The submarine was christened by the Duchess of Cornwall.

18 April 2009 came rubber tiles on the conning tower of lying still in Barrow-in -Furness in the shipyard ship from initially unknown cause fire. The damage caused was limited to the outside of the U - boat. The official commissioning ceremony was held on August 27, 2010.

On 22 October 2010 the Astute ran during sea trials off the Isle of Skye on reason. Able Seaman Ryan Samuel Donovan has been sentenced to 25 years in prison ..
