Hodonice (Tábor District)

Hodonice ( German Hodonitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is three and a half kilometers southeast of Bechyně in South Bohemia and belongs to Okres Tábor.

Geography

Hodonice is located in the southern part of the hill country Bechyně ( Bechyňská pahorkatina ). The village is located on the right side above the narrow valley of the Židova strouha in a creek from the stream Hodonický carrying hollow. To the north- west lies the Valley of the Lainsitz. Northeast extends the military airfield Bechyně.

History

Remains filled with ash and coal vessels of clay and graphite, which were found in Kopaniny, point to a prehistoric settlement. West of Hodonice there are remains of tumuli.

The first written mention of Hodonice took place on August 3, 1268, when Bishop John III. the village along with other towns in the episcopal rule Thein ceded to King Ottokar II. In 1528, Christoph von Schwan acquired the mountain villages Hodonice, Smoleč, Černýšovice, Černice, Hodětín, Sudoměřice, Radětice, Bežerovice, Oltýň, Vyhnanice, Senožaty and Hvožďany. In 1869 Hodonice consisted of 47 houses and 389 inhabitants had. In the second half of the 19th century, children were retrained from Hodonice because of the wide path from school Sudoměřice after Bechyně. The volunteer fire department was formed in the year 1900 1926 the village had grown to 65 houses, the inhabitants, however, dropped to 336.; in place, there were 20 farmers. In the same year Hodonice was electrified.

After the dissolution of Okres Milevsko the community was part of the 1948 Okres Tyn nad Vltavou. After its abolition end of 1960 Hodonice was assigned to the Okres Tábor. At the beginning of 1975 Hodonice was incorporated into Březnice. After a referendum, the village sparked November 24 again in 1990 Březnice off and formed its own community.
