Hofsee (Speck)

The Hofsee at Speck situated in the municipality Kargow, in the municipal area there are still two more Hofseen. The Hofsee at Speck is the largest of the three lakes. The lake is located southeast of goods in the west of the Müritz National Park in the district of Mecklenburg Lake District in southeast Mecklenburg. The lake is about 2400 meters long and 700 meters wide.

The strong verschilfte lake lies amid the marsh on the eastern shore of Lake Müritz, nestled between Specker Sea to the west and Priesterbäker Sea to the east. About a ditch to Specker lake, separated only by an approximately 450 -meter-wide land bridge, the lake drained to the lake Müritz.

The body of water located within the protection zone I ( core zone) of the Müritz National Park. Fishing is therefore only allowed with a special permit.

On the north shore is the village of bacon and in the south near Lazy spot borders the lake on the municipality Rechlin.
