Bright white seen from the north
The high brightness ( also high whiteness, High White or High whiteness, Italian Cima Bianca Grande ) is a 3281 m high mountain in the Texel Group, a sub-group of the Ötztal Alps.
Location
The high whiteness is located in South Tyrol ( Italy), near the border with Austria. At their summit communities Partschins, Moos meet to pass eggs and Schnals. The mountain is made in the Texel Group Nature Park under protection.
The high whiteness is a mighty mountain building in the north of Texel Group. To the north, the Texel group falls from here on the Graf tip ( 3147 m) and the Schnalsberg ( 3004 m) to Eisjöchl ( 2895 m ) from, the transition from Pfelderer valley to Pfossental, behind which the high Wilden ( 3480 m) of the Ötztal main ridge extends. Towards the south, a ridge connecting the high whiteness with the Lodner ( 3228 m). Southwest of it are the white lip, the Small White ( 3059 m ) and the Johannesburg Charter ( 2854 m ), the transition from Pfossen -ins Zieltal, upstream.
Alpinism
The first ascent was made in 1871 by the high whites Victor Pike and Rochus Raffeiner. Today's normal route to the summit is from Eisjöchl to the south over the lip between Count and Count Schnalsberg tip, then briefly down into the otherworldly pool and then over the steep northern flank of the summit.
Name
For the first time occupied the mountain is in the name created from 1760 to around 1770 Atlas Tyrolensis as Hochweis Spiż. In the local dialects Hoachwáis is in use. The name refers to one presumed to the fact that the high wearing white all year Firn on their flanks, on the other hand on the calcareous rock, making the summit appear strikingly brighter than other mountains of the Ötztal Alps.
