Hohenkapf

The Hohenkapf is about 1121.1 meters above sea level. NHN is the highest mountain in the Buchberger forest in the Swabian district of Upper Allgäu in Bavaria ( Germany ).

Geography

Location

The Hohenkapf is located in the southern part of the Buchberger Forest, the south-eastern part of the mountain Adelegg, 2.3 km (air line ) southwest of Eschach, a municipality part of book mountain. Over the western flank of the mountain is the boundary of the municipality Weitnau.

Waters

West of Hohenkapfs stems from the stones stream and on its southern flank of Letzbach, the northern tributaries of the wicked are Wengen (tributary of the Lower Argen ). His northern flank entfließen two streams that belong to the tributaries of that in the upper reaches Nibel Eschach. The only larger pond on Hohenkapf is located on its eastern flank Eschacher pond.

Hiking and Tourism

The Hohenkapf is accessed by several hiking trails. While one can perceive impressive from different places in these pathways views options, for example to the mountain Blender, towards Illertal to the Oberammergau and Allgäu Alps, as the mountain ridges Sonneck and touch the mountain, there is no chance opportunity at its heavily forested summit.

Far more famous than the Hohenkapf is the 1118 m height with slightly lower black ridge in the Adelegg because of its observation tower.
