Holger Crafoord

Holger Crafoord ( pronunciation: [ ˌ ː hɔl gəɹ kraf ː ɔɖ ] * 1908 in Stockholm, † 1982) was a Swedish industrialist.

After his training as an economist, he began his career at Åkerlund & Rausing packaging companies and Tetra Pak. In 1964 he founded in Lund, the company Gambro, in which the developed by Nils Alwall artificial kidney was brought to market. For the foundation of the company Crafoord sold his shares to his two companies to his business partner Ruben Rausing.

Named after him is endowed by him Crafoord Prize.
