Holmfrid Olsson

Holmfrid Olsson ( born May 20, 1943 in Rörbäcksnäs, Dalarna, Sweden, † 27 January 2009) was a Swedish biathlete.

Olsson was born in the small community Rörbäcksnäs Malung theaters and started for the club Rörbäcksnäs Skytteförening. At the World Championships in 1966 and 1967 he won the 4 x 7.5 km relay bronze medal; both times ran the relay in the occupation Olle Petrusson, Tore Eriksson, Olsson and Sture Ohlin. In individual he missed the podium in 1966 as a fourth tight, it was his best individual placing at a major international event.

Also at the 1968 Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble, he belonged to the Swedish squadron and won with Olle Petrusson, Lars- Göran Eriksson Arwidson and gates again a bronze medal. The single game he could occupy the 20th place after six shooting errors. At the Olympics 1972 he was once again the Swedish Olympic team. As 21 in singles and fifth in the relay him another medal was denied.

Olsson died on 27 January 2009 at the age of 65.
