Hong Yun-suk

Hong Yun -suk ( born August 19, 1925 in the North Korean province P'yŏngan - pukto ) is a South Korean poet.

Life

Hong Yun -suk was born in the former province of Hwanghae -do and grew up in Seoul. She attended the Dongdeok girls' school and the Seoul College for Teachers ( at that time the Kyeong Seong women's college, today's Seoul National University ). Then your teaching degree at the University interrupted by the outbreak of the Korean War.

In 1947 she debuted in the magazine " Munye Sinbo " ( 문예 신보 literature news ) with the poem Autumn ( 가을 ). In addition to writing, she worked mainly for various newspapers and magazines. Hong Yun -suk held various cultural offices, for example, she was president of the Korean Women's Literature Association and the Korean Poetry Association.

For her work she has received many awards. So she received including the Ku Sang Literature Prize (2012 ) and the Chungangpreis (2002) in the Art category.

Like many of her generation Korean, the Korean War and the division of the country belongs to their prägensten experiences. It can be assumed therefore that resonates in many of her poems, pessimism and a Grunddüsternis.
