The hotel Ukraine Corporation (Ukrainian готель Україна / Russian Гостиница Украина ) is a 4 - star hotel located on Maidan Nezalezhnosti in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.

The 66 -meter-high hotel building is an important architectural element in the center of Kiev against the October Palace.

History

The structure was in place was badly damaged in World War II high-rise " Ginsburg ", an apartment house, which existed since 1912 and since 1928, the tallest building in the Soviet Union built. [Note 1]

The construction of the 16- storey hotel building with 375 rooms began in 1955 and was completed with the official opening on 28 September 1961. The architect of the building was the Ukrainian Anatoly Wolodymyrowytsch Dobrowolskyj.

In honor of the 10th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine took place in 2001, renamed the building of " Hotel Moscow " in " Hotel Ukraine Corporation ".

During the events within the Euromaidan many international media representatives were accommodated at the hotel. On February 20, 2014, the hotel was temporarily in the center of the escalating and violent clashes, the dead were laid out and treated injured there.
