Description:
Linde is the older place name " Old Linde" ( Lindinon ) and the three mountain or the hill for the current place names. The colors red and silver are the arms of the former residents in the municipality noble family of Melschede removed. The official approval of the coat of arms was made on 30 November 1962.
Castle Melschede
The castle was built 1659-1669 by Ferdinand Freiherr von Wrede to Melschede, Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia and electoral equerry, built. It was built as a four-wing building by the architect Bonitius from Trier. The castle was an open three-wing building by demolition of the north wing in 1821. After further modifications 1920-1922, the system is now used as a hotel and restaurant.
