Hovik Jivanyan

Hovik Chanlari Djivanjan (Armenian Հովիկ Խանլարի Ջիվանյան; born January 6, 1972 in the village Tschartar, Martuni Province) is an Armenian politician of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh.

Life

Hovik Djivanjan was born on January 6, 1972 in the village Tschartar in Martuni. In 1989 he finished secondary school in the village Tschartar, 1995 he graduated from the law school at the State University of Yerevan. From 1990 to 1997 he was active in the armed forces. He was the first battalion commander and then deputy commander of the 2nd defense circle. From 1998 to 1999 he was a deputy prosecutor in Hadrut before he was from 1999 to 2005 head of the military police in Martuni. Hovik Djivanjan is awarded the Order of Battle Cross 1st degree.

Policy

On 19 June 2005 he was elected by proportional representation on the electoral list of the party " Free Homeland" as a deputy in the elections to the fourth National Assembly. On 30 June 2005 he was elected as deputy chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Council on constitutional issues during the first plenary session. On 13 December 2007 he was appointed Advisor to the Prime Minister. In the elections to the fifth National Assembly he was confirmed as a deputy, and his committee post he retained.

Hovik Djivanjan is married and has two children.
