Howard Lederer

Howard " The Professor" Lederer ( * October 30, 1964 in Concord, New Hampshire ) is an American professional poker player and brother of poker player Annie Duke.

Life

His father, Richard Lederer, taught at St. Paul 's School in New Hampshire. Lederer, a young chess talent, moved to the high school to New York City and enrolled at Columbia University. New York City is known for its chess clubs, in one of these clubs, he then discovered poker and eventually played at the Mayfair Club with many well known today players like Erik Seidel and Dan Harrington.

In 1994, he moved to Las Vegas ( Nevada), where he earned recognition.

His nickname The Professor he got for his behavior, his analytical style and his many successes. He has an introductory video Secrets of No Limit Hold'em brought out and set up the Howard Lederer Poker Fantasy Camp in life. In the FOX he was Comoderator for a poker show. His sister Katy Lederer has written a book, Poker Face: A Girlhood Among Gamblers written about the Lederer family.

Lederer is known for its focused and calm demeanor at the poker table, but when in 2000 Daniel Negreanu were inappropriate comments about his sister Anni away, he has criticized him publicly. Also in the World Poker Tour Grand Prix de Paris in 2003, he refused to give Tony G 's hand as he threw him out of the tournament.

Currently are its revenue at over $ 6,400,000 through official poker tournaments. He won a total of two World Series of Poker bracelets and two World Poker Tour titles. He also won in 2008 at the Aussie Millions, an event where there was a buy-in of 100,000 Australian dollars.

Lederer is a vegetarian, this brought him once a $ 10,000 when he ate a cheeseburger. He became a vegetarian after a gastrectomy was performed for weight loss with him. One of his nicknames was " bubba " ( the Doyle Brunson gave him ), he was, as he took off, shortened to " bub ".

Lederer was part of the design team of the online poker site Full Tilt Poker. 2011, the site has been closed by the Ministry of Justice of the United States and brought a charge of bank fraud and illegal gambling. In December 2012, the charges were dropped against Lederer in the course of a comparison. Since January 2011, Lederer plays no more tournaments.

He currently lives with his wife Suzie, his son Matti and three dogs in Las Vegas.
