Hrádek u Nechanic

The Hradek u Nechanic ( German Bürgles ) Castle in the eponymous Czech village Hradek u Nechanic belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

The castle built in Tudor style, Count Franz Ernst Harrach built in the years 1839-1857. The work led by the Viennese architect Karl Fischer. The plans provided by the London architect G.Lamb and based on the original Crewe Hall in Cheshire, which was built in the years 1615-1636.

The halls and rooms of the castle are lavishly decorated. For its interior numerous items of castles in Austria and Germany, but also from Venice, England and France were brought there. The Golden Hall decorate a beautiful coffered ceiling and a massive ornamental fireplace. In the Knights' Hall sophisticated carvings are worth seeing. The establishment of the Mühlgrub salons dates from the second half of the 16th century.
