Hugo Demarco

Hugo Demarco ( born July 13, 1932 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, † 1995 in Paris, France ) was a long time living in France Argentine Kinetic artist and object artist.

Life and work

Hugo Demarco was born in Buenos Aires, but lived and worked for many years in Paris, where he late 1950s, the community of expatriate South African artists joined. These included, among others, Julio Le Parc, and Jesús Rafael Soto. In 1960 he had an exhibition in collaboration with the Groupe de Recherche d'Art Visuel in his studio in Paris. In the years 1960, 1961 and 1967, he had major solo exhibitions at the Galerie Denise René in Paris. In 1968, he was with a kinetic space object participant of the documenta 4 in Kassel.

DeMarco work lives of color and movement. He traveled the world with his art and had numerous personal exhibitions of his works, especially between 1961 and 1989. He also had joint exhibitions with its South American friends, especially with Julio Le Parc, Jesús Rafael Soto Soto, Horacio Garcia Rossi and Carlos Cruz -Diez. Hugo Demarco was professor of painting and graphic arts in Buenos Aires. In addition to his artistic career, he was coach of the rugby team the " université Paris club". Since 1989, his works of art in the Art Collection Demenga Basel can be seen.
