Hugo K. Sievers

Sievers studied at the University of Chile and in 1925 the veterinary. From 1926, he conducted research in Argentina, from 1928 in Brazil at the Institute Oswaldo Cruz. After further research at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, he received his doctorate in 1929 at the Institute for Tropical Diseases in Hamburg.

On behalf of the Government of Chile and the University of Chile Sievers traveled among other things, to Peru, Mexico, the U.S., Japan, China, Korea, Indochina, India, Egypt and Italy. He was chairman of the Chilean Academy of Sciences and a member of many other societies.
