Reception

Similar to the previous album by critics and fans was very well received. In Rock Hard Magazine awarded by Buffo Schnädelbach 9 out of 10 possible points. To this end, the following criticism was printed: " In the U.S., the guys from Tallahassee / Florida have long occupied the vacant throne of the erstwhile flagship grunge Pearl Jam. Nearly four million copies sold their brilliant My Own Prison debuts alone in the land of unlimited opportunities speak for themselves. Creed have set the bar so damn high placed not only musically, but also in commercial terms. Nevertheless, the second album of Christian -inspired combo is the high expectations at every second full justice. Especially in terms of production was the melancholy quartet with his fragile to heavy sound somewhere in the intersection between Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots and Pearl Jam just draufpacken to some shoveling. And in terms of the music put on Creed Human Clay again her outstanding skills as a songwriter to the test. The absolute highlight are as on the debut, the ballads, of which the band Faceless Man, Arms Wide Open, Higher, Wash Away Those Years and Inside Us All time equal to four (all potential hit singles / hymns with depth ) has at the start. But even harder ways such as Are You Ready, What If and the international (?) Bonus Track Young Grow Old are not without. And that Scott Stapp is completely acted rightly as the new Eddie Vedder, the introverted moody frontman proves in almost every track. Human Clay is not only soothing to the psyche, but also the light at the end of the tunnel for all shaken by grief and depression other souls. For this, go along with nine points lush still a very personal thank you across the pond! "

Human Clay was honored by the RIAA 11 times platinum, making it one of the 100 best-selling albums in the United States. Overall, the album sat over 11 million units sold from. Thus, it is number 28 of the world's best-selling albums of the years 2000 to 2009. Though in the sales the first three months were not counted, it nevertheless placed better than the published in 2001 Weathered, which copies sold 8 million at No. 66 Selbiger list stood.
