Humbert Fink

Humbert Fink (actually Luigi Umberto F., born August 13, 1933, Vietri sul Mare near Salerno, Italy, † 16 May 1992 Maria Saal, Carinthia ) was an Austrian writer and journalist.

Life

Humbert Fink spent his childhood in southern Italy, after which he lived for many years in Villach, Klagenfurt and Vienna, from 1978 he lived until his death in Maria Saal.

After a volume of poetry and two novels Fink wrote numerous travel and non-fiction, especially biographies of historical figures. He admitted in 1957/58 The Austrian leaves and from 1959 with Paul Kruntorad the books of literature and criticism out. Fink was a member of Group 47, ten years after its dissolution he developed with Ernst Willner 1977, the idea of the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition. Fink designed as an author and lecturer and program series in the ORF, from 1967 a week for two to three programs, ( such as the Cultural Policy Perspectives ). He was a regular employee of the Bayerischer Rundfunk and other German and Swiss radio stations, author, lecturer and newspaper commentator.
