Humphrey III of Toron

Humphrey III. of Toron ( † before 1173 ) was Lord of Oultrejordain and the son of Humphrey II of Toron, Lord of Toron.

He married 1163 Stephanie of Milly, daughter of Philip of Milly, Lords of Oultrejordain, making it out of the right of his wife of Mr Oultrejordain was 1168.

1173 his main fortress Kerak was besieged by Nur ad -Din, but Humphrey could force him to retreat. In the same year Humphrey died.

With Stephanie he had two children:

  • Humphrey IV of Toron, the II in 1179 with the reign Toron succeeded his grandfather Humphrey because Humphrey III. had already died in 1173.
  • Isabella of Toron, the 1181 Ruben III. Prince of Armenia married.

Stephanie kept after his death the rule Oultrejordain and married again.
