Isabella of Toron

Isabella of Toron ( * before 1166; † after 1192, before 1229 ) was Titularherrin of Toron and Oultrejordain, and by marriage Princess of Lesser Armenia. She was the daughter of Humphrey III. of Toron and Stephanie of Milly, Lady of Oultrejordain.

In early February of the year 1181 or 1182, she married the prince in Jerusalem Ruben III. of Lesser Armenia († 1187 ). With him she had two daughters:

  • Philippa (* 1183 ),

When her brother Humphrey of Toron IV died in 1192, Isabella inherited his claims to rule Toron, which was, however, occupied since 1187 by the Muslim Ayyubids. Upon the death of her mother in 1197, she inherited their claims to the occupied since 1189 ayyubidisch rule Oultrejordain.

Isabella's death date is unknown. Your heiress was the elder daughter Alice, who the government regained in 1229 about the rule Toron.
