Hurricane Guillermo (1997)

As fast as Guillermo intensified as quickly as he lost power. Shortly before he arrived in the central Pacific, he reached on 10 August, only the strength of a tropical storm. Only a short time later, he began to weaken and was on August 10, just before he reached the Zentralpazifische pool, downgraded to a tropical storm. After crossing the 140th meridian west, the Central Pacific Hurricane Center took over the monitoring of the storm. Guillermo weakened further to a tropical depression off, won again shortly afterwards, however, the strength of a tropical storm. In the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands, he moved temporarily to West -northwest and weakened on August 15, again at a tropical depression off. On August 16, Guillermo became an extratropical cyclone and turned on a east - northeasterly track. He moved parallel to the coast of Alaska, where he held a distance of about 800 km. On August 19, about 925 km off the coast of British Columbia, he turned south. Guillermo was eventually absorbed on August 24 off the coast of California by an extratropical low pressure area.
