Ampelographic varietal characteristics

  • The slightly conical to cylindrical - shaped cluster is large, shouldered and dichtbeerig (also loose-! Depending on the degree of the irrigator ). The slightly rounded berries are either big and then have nuclei or the berry is small and seedless. Pierre Galet thought, therefore, that the Huxelrebe has only female flowers, although this is not mentioned in the German literature. The berries are of a golden yellow color. The juice of the berries is aromatic.

The Huxelrebe drives out early and miss that's not always the late spring frosts. The winter frost resistance is poor. The strong vigorous variety can provide very good returns. However, it is prone to strong irrigator. It is generally true for the Huxelrebe: If the vine is not pruned correctly (→ Training system ), there is Blühempfindlichkeit despite the risk to high yields with the concomitant reduction in quality.

They often reach medium-high must weights. On average, the must weight is up to 15 degrees Oechsle higher than those of the standard varieties of German wine-growing areas.
