Hyrnetho

Hyrnetho (Greek Ὑρνηθώ ) was in Greek mythology a daughter of the Temenos King of Argos and grandson of Heracles.

She was married to Deiphontes. Her father Temenos moved before this his own sons, and she killed him. As he lay dying, he sat Deiphontes one as his successor. Although the army accepted him as king, he withdrew because of the ongoing hostility of his in-laws with his wife to Epidauros, the king gave him dominion. It attracted sons of Temenos to Epidauros to her sister Hyrnetho to persuade them that they leave her husband. Since she refused, they robbed her brothers, Deiphontes pursued, and in the subsequent fight came Hyrnetho to life. Deiphontes they buried and erected in her honor a Heroon, the Hyrnethion was called. (Pausanias 2.28 )
