I, Anna

I, Anna is a British thriller, the Barnaby Southcombe staged in 2011. The screenplay is based on a novel by Elsa Lewin. In Germany the film experienced its cinema premiere on May 3, 2013.

Action

In Detective Inspector Bernie Reid 's latest case, George Stone is brutally murdered in a London apartment. Because Reid lives because of his divorce in a hotel at night and can not sleep well, he makes the first one at the scene. On the way into the building, he meets Anna, who later turns out to be prime suspect. Reid traced to a dating party, denies on Anna to have ever seen him. Bernie's professional self is shaken, because he is attracted to Anna. This has traumatic memories of her daughter Emmy and their child that died in a traffic accident, because Anna had not been taking care of it. She lives in an illusory world in which she pretends with her daughter and grandchild live together. In flashbacks it is shown how Anna remembers the night, died in the George Stone. Stone raped her orally and she knocked him down with a stone figure. As Reid brings it to the scene and will hear, she beats the apartment door from the inside to lock the lock and rises to the railing of the balcony. Reid can stop at the last second from the mortal leap in depth.

Criticism

The lexicon of the International film ruled the film offers a " main cast of compelling borne exciting crime story ." It would be " elements from the film noir, the romance and the family drama" linked.

Awards

Charlotte Rampling was nominated in 2013 for her portrayal of the Evening Standard British Film Award.

On the Vancouver International Film Festival in 2012, Barnaby Southcombe was honored with his work as a director as Most Popular International First Feature. At the Shanghai International Film Festival in the same year the director was nominated with his debut in the category of Best Film.
