History

I Should Have Known Better was published on October 26, 1984 worldwide and was among others in the UK, Ireland and Australia a number -one hit. The song told from the perspective of the lyric ego from the fact that the protagonist is cheating on her and now asks for forgiveness. Such a similar interpretation is also found in George Michael's classic Careless Whisper.

The hit is four minutes and appeared in the album Double Crossed.

Music Video

The music video shows Jim Diamond with some studio musicians and the producer of the hit, Pip Williams, recording in a recording studio. During recording, guilt feelings come up in the producer because he has cheated on his wife. In these sequences, Williams pulls woman with the little daughter of the house and enters the next train. Then the daughter storms the studio and she embraces her father, at the end forgives him and his wife.
