IAI Westwind

The IAI 1124 Westwind is the Israeli producer Israel Aircraft Industries, a business aircraft for 10 passengers. The mid-wing aircraft has a retractable tricycle landing gear and a pressurized cabin. It corresponds to the modified engines of the IAI 1123 Commodore Jet. The prototype of the 1123 began in September 1970. Pending the production change mid-1976 to 1124 with turbofan engines 36 machines were produced. The 1124 can accommodate 10 passengers. There is also a Seeüberwachungsvariante, the 1124N Sea Scan.

In the late 1970s the type was developed for the 1124A. The IAI 1124A Westwind II has a novel sigma- wing, so it has a much greater range. The first flight of the 1124A took place in April 1979. Production ended in 1987 after 244 machines of all versions were shipped. Successor is the IAI 1125 Astra.
