Iain Dilthey

Life

From 1992 to 1997 he studied chemistry and pharmacy in Marburg and Mainz. He then worked as a scriptwriter and production or assistant director on several documentaries, features and short films. From 1997 to 2002 Iain Dilthey studied at the Film Academy Baden- Württemberg the subject Scenic Film with Tom Toelle, Nico Hofmann, Christian Wagner, Lutz Konermann and Michael Verhoeven.

His first feature film The Desire won at the International Film Festival of Locarno, in the summer of 2002, the top prize Golden Leopard. The film was then continued to countless festivals and won several other awards. His drama prisoners with Jule Bowe and Andrew Schmidt also launched in Locarno. Since late 2007, Dilthey is one of the five directors of the ARD TV series linden street. He supervises and teaches at various film schools. The episodic film Someday ... from the year 2010 celebrated on the Film Festival Montreal premiered and won in the same year the film award at Lüdia Lünen Film Festival.
