Ian Hargreaves

Ian Hargreaves (born 18 July 1951 in Burnley, Lancashire ) is a British journalist and media expert. He is chair of Digital Economy at the Cardiff School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies at Cardiff University and the Cardiff Business School.

Hargreaves worked until 1987, eleven years in various positions at the Financial Times, where he managed over the years several ministries. For the next three years he worked for the BBC, where he was a fundamental reorganization of the newsroom overlooked as Director of News and Current Affairs, before he returned to the Financial Times. From 1994 to 1995 he was editor in chief of the Independents and from 1996 to 1998 chief editor of the New Statesman. He then moved to the University.

He was Chairman of the Commission, the Digital Opportunity report, better known as Hargreaves report or Google Review, wrote on the Future Spiritual property rights in the United Kingdom 2010 /2011.

For BBC Radio 4 he has been attending the show Moral Maze.
