Ibanez Iceman

The Ibanez Iceman is an electric guitar model of the Japanese musical instrument Ibanez.

The Iceman was first published in 1976 Ibanez catalog and was the first own model of the brand. The inventor of the Iceman was a hitherto fairly unsuccessful luthier from Japan. However, he wanted for the exploitation rights to his patent for the Iceman no money, but demanded as a fee only the first production copy of the model.

The top plate of the Iceman has a goose beak similar in outline form that became the hallmark for Ibanez Electric Guitars after some modifications.

In 1978, low-cost IC100 and IC300 versions were added to the Ibanez program. That same year, Paul Stanley, guitarist of the rock band Kiss got its PS-10 signature model of the Iceman. Since then circulates the misconception that Paul Stanley was the inventor of the Iceman.

The Iceman was built primarily from 1975 to 1983. Today, some Iceman models are restored, such as the IC200, IC300, the, the IC400, the ICT700 and the latest IC500.
