IBM Cross System Product (CSP)

IBM Cross System Product ( CSP) is an introduced by IBM in 1981 development environment in the mainframe area. The aim of the development tool has been to increase the productivity of the development of the normal in the 1980 mainframe applications. CSP used a COBOL -like, simple fourth generation language and various tools, for example for the design of screens. 1994 CSP was replaced by the product VisualGen, which was later renamed in Visual Age and was able to cover the needs of a client -server architecture and graphical user interfaces enabled.

CSP has enabled the development of several former IBM platforms such as VM / CMS, MVS, AS/400, or OS / 2, which is reflected in the name of the product. When changing the platform only to regenerate was required.

The latest version of CSP, the version 4.1 is no longer supported since 2002 by IBM.
