IBM Lotus Expeditor

Lotus Expeditor is a software from IBM, can be created and integrated with work surfaces which on the basis of open source software Eclipse (RCP ). With this integration, software SOA-based solutions can be created. Different applications can be related to content concatenated ( composite applications ).

Lotus Expeditor is the successor to IBM WebSphere Everyplace Deployment.

Functionality of Lotus Expeditor

  • Composite Applications: Applications can be linked by content. It will be supported various technologies.
  • Integration: Different data sources (eg JSR 172, 168) are supported for integration.
  • Offline function: applications can be synchronized for offline use.
  • Mobile Access: Editing applications via personal digital assistant ( PDA) or smartphone.

  • Rich client and Web-based user interface: Applications can easily be adapted to the rich client as well as on the web browser. Reuse of components.

Use in other IBM software

IBM increasingly developing application software based on the OSGi framework, which is also used in the Lotus Expeditor. For example, Lotus Notes 8 and Lotus Sametime 7.5.x based on this technique. Since both software products have been developed on this basis, this can now be integrated in Lotus Notes 8. With this technique it is possible to use the Lotus Notes 8 client, the Sametime 7.5.x Awareness of a user with the full functionality of Sametime.
