IBM Lotus Quickr

Lotus Quickr is a collaboration software from IBM, with the help of information managed in companies that can be shared with each other and worked together in teams.

Lotus Quickr is announced a development of Lotus QuickPlace and IBM at the event Lotusphere 2007.

Functionality

In a simple way, a team area ( Teamplace ) can be created in which a working group ( business, project team, etc.) information to create and manage. The access permissions on the content managed by the creator of the team area.

Lotus Quickr has the following six main components:

  • Library for managing content
  • Team field for the online project work
  • Association with ECM system
  • Connectors
  • Templates so that the team areas can be constructed directly, without preparation
  • A separate online database, can be stored on the personal files

Depending on requirements, components can be enabled and configured for use. It can also be adapted standard templates for team spaces are created.

As an alternative to Web browser content can also be edited using a connector software, which is installed by default on the team area.

With the connectors files can be edited from the project library directly from the application. Also, the contents of the library may be synchronized to the local PC.

Users can set up RSS feeds to get information about changes.
