Ida Ljungqvist

Ida Ljungqvist ( born September 27, 1981 in Tanzania ) is a Tanzanian- Swedish model. She was the Playboy Playmate of the Month March 2008 and 2009 Playmate of the Year. She is the first African-born and second Swedish model, which was voted Playmate of the Year.

Ljungqvist was born in Tanzania, the daughter of a Tanzanian mother and a Swedish father. It was discovered by Sara Jean Underwood in a bebe store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. Because of her father's work for UNICEF Ljungqvist traveled a lot. She speaks English, Swedish and Swahili. Ljungqvist has a degree in fashion design and marketing. In December 2007, Ljungqvist Joshua R. Lang married. In September 2008, Long filed for divorce. Since 2012, Ljungqvist to be romantically involved with the American model Kristina Shannon.

Ljungqvist was among other Playmates co- hosted the Playboy New Years Eve Party 2009 in Miami. Since her appointment as the Playmate of the Year, Ljungqvist has worked with Empowerment Works, a non- profit organization. Their work involves raising awareness of the organization and fundraising.
