Rajongemeinde Ignalina ( Ignalinos rajono savivaldybė ) is located a Rajongemeinde in northeastern Lithuania, about 90 km northeast of Vilnius. She is a sister city of the North Rhine -Westphalian Buren. The decommissioned Ignalina nuclear power plant is about 45 kilometers from the city of Visaginas in the extreme northeast of the county Ignalina. The Rajongemeinde includes the cities Ignalia and Dūkštas (930 inhabitants), the town ( miesteliai ) Mielagėnai, Rimšė and Tverečius, and 726 villages.
