The Rajongemeinde Raseiniai ( Raseinių rajono savivaldybė ) is a Rajongemeinde in northeastern Lithuania, in Kaunas district. The municipality has just over 40.000 inhabitants.
In the Rajongemeinde located with Siluva a widely prominent Catholic pilgrimage, the Pope John Paul II visited in 1993. The basis is the ( officially recognized ) appearance of the Virgin Mary on a stone in the year 1608. Around this stone, no doubt a former pagan worship, a chapel was built. The drain fair with several thousands of visitors takes place annually in September.
The Rajongemeinde is traversed by the Dubysa, one of the most spectacular, unspoiled rivers in Lithuania. Here is a Regional Park was founded. The Dubysa is spanned at Lyduvėnai of a railway bridge is the longest bridge in Lithuania with 599 m.
Economically relevant, in addition to agriculture and forestry, textile companies and the food industry.
