Ignaz Agricola

Ignaz Agricola ( born July 31, 1661 Zusamaltheim; † January 23, 1729 in Munich) was a German historian, philosopher, theologian and Jesuit.

Life

On September 28, 1677 Agricola entered the Jesuit Order. On February 2, 1695 he took the three religious vows. For three years he studied philosophy and theology for four years. After teaching for two years in the Order grammar, for two years he taught poetry, he taught another seven years rhetoric and logic for two years. Probably Ignaz Agricola was also active in Munich; there he was in 1719 president of the Sodalitas major, the Marian Bürgersodalität year.
