Ignazio Donati

Ignazio Donati (* 1570 in Casal Maggiore, near Cremona, † January 21, 1638 in Milan ) was an Italian organist, conductor and composer.

His first professional position was the position of organist in Pesaro, after which he worked in various places as a conductor and eventually ended his career in Milan, where he held the position of Director of Music from 1631 until his death.

He created essentially spiritual music, including single and multi- part motets and several masses. His musical work was among his contemporaries in high esteem.
