Casalmaggiore

Casal Maggiore is a Lombard city in the province of Cremona in Italy with 15,265 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2012). It is located approximately 30 km southeast of Cremona.

History

Archaeological finds from 1970 confirm that was already inhabited during the Bronze Age the area. The town was founded by the Romans as Castra maiora, ie as a military camp.
