Igor Sanakoyev

Igor Viktorovich Sanakoev (Russian Игорь Викторович Санакоев; * 1947 in Aspindza, Georgian SSR ) is a South Ossetian politician and former prime minister of his country.

Life and career

Igor Sanakoev was born in 1947 in Aspindza in the south of the Georgian Soviet republic into a Ossetian family. He studied at the biological chemical faculty of the South Ossetian educational institute in Tskhinvali and later in Moscow, before he eventually worked in various industrial and food industrial combines in the South Ossetian capital. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, he was first employed by ROSTEK in North Ossetia. After the de facto independence of South Ossetia, he was a follower of Gerasim Chugajew September 2003 to May 2005 Prime Minister of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity of President.

Sanakoev is married and has a son.
