Boris Chochiev

Boris Jeliosowitsch Tschotschijew (* November 1, 1957 in Tskhinvali, South Ossetian Autonomous Oblast ) is a South Ossetian politician.

Boris Tschotschijew in 1982, a study at the Faculty of Biology of the South Ossetian State Pedagogical Institute from. From 1980 to 1986 he worked for the communist youth organization Komsomol and then to 1991 in the South Ossetian organization of the CPSU.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union Tschotschijew worked for the government of the separatist republic of South Ossetia, which seeks to split off its territory of Georgia. From May 1992 to April 2001, he was Chairman of the State Committee for Nationalities and Migration. From 1993 he was involved in the Joint Control Commission at the international conflict resolution to Südossetienkrieg 2008.

In April 2001 he was appointed Minister for Special Tasks. From 31 December 2005 until August 18, 2008, he was Deputy Prime Minister of South Ossetia. As President Eduard Kokoity the previous Prime Minister Yuriy Morozov dismissed in connection with the Südossetienkrieg, Tschotschijew was temporarily managing Prime Minister. On 22 October 2008, he handed the office to the Prime Minister newly elected Aslanbek Bulazew.
