Ilghazi

He was a son of the governor of Jerusalem Ortoq († 1091, of the dynasty of Ortoqiden ).

Under the government Rogers of Antioch of the Frankish pressure on Aleppo steadily increased until the population Ilghazi of Mardin called for help, the 1118 rule took over and connected to Tugtakin of Damascus. In 1119 they invaded the Principality of Antioch. After the Battle of Ager Sanguinis but was forced back by Baldwin II again.

After his death the inheritance was divided: His older son Suleiman ibn Ilghazi took Mayyafaraqin, his younger son Timurtasch took Mardin and his nephew Badr ad -Daulah Suleiman got Aleppo. The nephew Balak ibn Bahram increased his possessions to the north and took Harran added to the south.
