The dam is 1195 km ² in size and contains 21,166 million cubic meters. He is dammed by a shut-off, which is a combination of a dam of 3400 m and a gravity dam of 975 m length. The total length is given in different sources with 5605 or 6185 m.

The dam Ilha Solteira is connected via the 9600 m long channel Pereira Barreto with the hydroelectric plant Três Irmãos. Also, the hydroelectric power plant Souza Dias ( Jupia Reservoir ) a link exists.
