Ilhéu de Sal-Rei

The Ilhéu de Sal Rei ( Cape Verdean Creole: Djeu d Sal Rei) is an uninhabited island 1 km before the capital Sal Rei Boavista Island in Cape Verde.

Those at the highest point about 20 m high island measures 1.5 km from northwest to southeast and is up to 500 m wide. Both for the Port of Sal Rei and for the south of the island's capital located kilometer-long sandy beach of Praia de Chaves, it offers the advantage of reducing the surf of the Atlantic.

On the island of volcanic origin grow grass and some bushes. To the south are the remains of the Portuguese fort Duque de Bragança, in the middle of the island, the ruins of a former lighthouse.
