Ilkka Pikkarainen

Ilkka Pikkarainen ( born April 19, 1981 in Sonkajärvi ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with Timrå IK in the Swedish Elitserien since May 2010.

Career

Ilkka Pikkarainen began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of the HIFK Helsinki for the first team, he made his debut in the SM- liiga in the 2000 /01 season. After he first completed a full season in professional hockey in the following year, the attacker in the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 was selected in the seventh round as a total of 218 players from the New Jersey Devils. After he still stood until 2003 in the SM- liiga for HIFK on the ice, he played from 2003 to 2006 in the American Hockey League farm team for the Devils, the Albany River Rats.
