Illinois Route 18

The Illinois State Route 18 ( IL 18 short ) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Illinois, which runs in an east - west direction.

The State Route begins at the Illinois State Route 29 west of the city Henry and ends after 63 kilometers in Blackstone at Illinois State Route 17 on the half of the distance meets the IL 18 on Interstate 39

Course

The road leaves Henry in an easterly direction and crosses on the outskirts of the Illinois River. Shortly thereafter uses the IL 18 for about a kilometer the route of State Route 26 northwest of Magnolia meets the road on State Route 89 south of Lostant it first passes through the route of Interstate 39 and U.S. Highways 51 and shortly thereafter the State Route 251 between I-39 and the city of Streator branches off State Route 179 in a southerly direction. In the center of Streator IL 18 meets the Illinois State Route 23 before 17 terminates in Blackstone after 63 at Illinois State Route.

From 1918 to 1927, the road from Chicago to Princeton. This section is now part of U.S. Highway 34 In 1939, the IL 17 a new course south of Streator between Blackstone and Camp Grove. The old section was then to IL 18
