Ilse Kaschube

Ilse Kashub, married Ilse Zeisler, ( born June 25, 1953 in Old Treptow ) is a former German canoeist.

Ilse Kashub competed for the SC Neubrandenburg, where she was coached by Helmut Hörentrup. In 1970, she was in the GDR Championships winner in one kayak and Dorethea Oltmann in the double kayak. The following year, she took fourth place in both classes and was in the K 2 junior European champion. In 1972, she was in the K 2 with Carola Zirzow DDR Champion. However, due to line-up changes they came not with her, but with Petra Grabowsky at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972. Behind the starters from the Soviet Union Lyudmila Pinayeva and Ekaterina Kuryshko, they won the silver medal and received the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze. The following year they won together and the world title. In 1974 she was again - now in four-man kayak - World Champion and was again honored with the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.

Kashubian is a trained industrial clerk. After her active career, she was Head of Department at outwork Jarman of VEB clothes works Old Treptow. She married the former Canadian Driver Klaus Zeisler. With him she opened after 1989 a construction operation.
